Offset has credited Drake for his generosity and fairness in the music industry, highlighting how the Canadian rapper supported Migos during their rise without seeking financial advantage.
Speaking on the Full Send Podcast, Offset explained that Drake never charged the group for features and always ensured equal publishing splits.
“Always showed love. Always pulled up to the video shoots, all that,” Offset said. “Don’t make it a hassle, don’t be charging n***. A lot of artists his size would bully the record … like, ‘I want all the publishing.’ He didn’t do none of that. It was equal splits.”
Their working relationship began in 2013 when Drake appeared on the remix of Migos’ breakout single Versace, which helped propel the Atlanta trio into mainstream recognition. The collaboration also introduced their signature triplet flow to a wider audience.
The partnership continued with multiple collaborations, including Walk It Talk It from Migos’ 2018 Culture II album. The track’s retro-inspired video became a viral hit and added another chart success to their shared history. In 2021, they teamed up again for Having Our Way on Culture III.
Drake and Migos also toured together on the Aubrey and the Three Migos Tour in 2018, further cementing their creative bond. Offset’s comments not only underscored Drake’s collaborative spirit but also defended him against criticism. In June 2025, Offset publicly supported Drake after T-Pain suggested the rapper should retire, writing online, “Da Boy is da boy … all dat hating on another grown man who do more numbers than everybody is diabolical.”
Offset’s remarks highlight Drake’s rare approach in an industry where major artists often demand high fees or publishing control.
