Silksong release date reveal dominates Gamescom YouTube views

Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight: Silksong release date reveal became one of the most-watched gaming videos on YouTube last week, second only to Nintendo’s Kirby Air Riders Direct.
After nearly a decade of anticipation, Team Cherry finally announced that Silksong will launch on September 4, 2025.
The announcement came via a special YouTube premiere, clocking in at under two minutes, but drawing in hundreds of thousands of eager fans. According to StreamsCharts, the stream peaked at 323,297 viewers and held a steady average of 107,000 viewers, making it the second most-watched gaming video on YouTube during the week of August 21.
Only Nintendo’s presentation—which showcased new details about Kirby Air Riders, a Switch 2 exclusive launching on August 28, 2025—surpassed it, peaking at 525,000 viewers.
Following the announcement, interest in the original Hollow Knight has surged, and several indie studios have reportedly rescheduled their release dates to avoid clashing with Silksong's long-awaited debut.
