Ed Sheeran surprised fans this weekend with an unexpected twist on his latest hit. The British singer-songwriter teamed up with Norwegian dance crew The Quick Style for a routine to Sapphire, blending his chart-topping single with high-energy Bhangra steps. The video, posted on Instagram on August 24, quickly spread across social media and had fans marvelling at a side of Sheeran rarely seen on stage.

The collaboration felt particularly fitting given the song’s roots. Sapphire is not just another pop anthem but a track that merges Western melodies with South Asian influences, thanks to Sheeran’s first-ever partnership with Indian playback icon Arijit Singh. By performing alongside The Quick Style and embracing Bhangra-inspired choreography, Sheeran highlighted the very cross-cultural spirit that defines the song itself.

The Quick Style, founded by Suleman and Bilal Malik and their childhood friend Nasir Sirikhan, has built a global following by weaving together hip hop, Bollywood, and traditional dance forms. Their collaboration with Sheeran reinforced their reputation for creating viral moments that resonate far beyond dance culture. Watching Sheeran step confidently into their world only deepened the appeal, showing his willingness to experiment well outside his comfort zone.

Fans instantly flooded the comments with excitement. One gushed that the clip was “the collab I never thought I needed,” while another joked the joyful routine “added 10 years to my lifespan.” Others were simply charmed by Sheeran’s effort, calling him “adorable” and praising his ability to embrace different cultures with authenticity.

Beyond the fun of the dance, Sapphire has already carved out its place in Sheeran’s career milestones. Since debuting in June, the track has broken into the UK Singles Chart’s top five, securing him yet another top 10 hit and fuelling anticipation for his upcoming eighth studio album Play, due out September 12.

For now, the playful collab has fans buzzing about what Sheeran might try next. Whether it’s a new dance move or another unexpected musical fusion, the singer seems determined to keep his audience guessing.
