Zohran Mamdani participated in a bench press demonstration at Brooklyn's annual Men's Day event, attempting a 135-pound barbell.

The 33-year-old completed two assisted reps, crediting the spotter from the organization “500 Men Making a Difference” for support.

The event drew political attention, with some rivals referencing the video online. On social media, Mamdani was nicknamed “Mamscrawny” by a rival, and Mayor Eric Adams highlighted the demonstration in comparison to his own fitness and experience.

Adams posted, “64 vs 33. A lifetime of hard work vs. a silver spoon. The results speak for themselves,” and added, “The weight of the job is too heavy for ‘Mamscrawny.’ The only thing he can lift is your taxes.”
