Connor Franta confirms past Troye Sivan relationship, shares supportive message in new video

Connor Franta addresses Troye Sivan relationship in new video, confirming no bad blood and sending supportive message.

YouTuber and author Connor Franta has responded to renewed online interest in his past relationship with singer Troye Sivan, posting a new video titled my good side in which he says there is “no bad blood” between them and offers Sivan a message of support.

The update follows a flare-up of fan theories after both stars referenced an old photo with Chappell Roan on social media this month, prompting fresh speculation about their mid-2010s connection.

The photo resurfaced when Sivan shared a throwback image with Roan that appeared to crop out Franta; Sivan later clarified in a comment that he found the picture online and did not make the crop himself.

Shortly afterward, Franta posted the same image with Sivan cropped out, captioning it “my good side,” a nod many fans linked to Sivan’s 2018 song “The Good Side.” Coverage by Out and Yahoo noted the caption’s connection to the track from Sivan’s album Bloom.

In his video, Franta jokes about the situation’s throwback nature and acknowledges enduring public curiosity. He reiterates there is no “drama” between him and his former partner and closes with a direct message to Sivan: he is “proud” of him and his achievements.

Context for the renewed interest traces back to a 2024 interview on Obsessed with Brooke Averick, where Franta said he discovered Roan’s music in 2014 with his “boyfriend at the time,” a remark widely interpreted as referring to Sivan. Subsequent coverage last week revisited those comments amid the photo posts.

Franta also reflects on “The Good Side,” saying parts of the song aligned with his experience while noting it can oversimplify how people navigate relationships.
