Many Battlefield 6 beta players voiced frustration over the small map sizes, but EA promised bigger—and they’ve delivered. The upcoming Battlefield Labs update brings two massive maps: Mirak Valley and the return of Battlefield 3’s iconic Operation Firestorm.
These maps, currently available for testing on select servers, will be the largest in the game when Battlefield 6 launches on October 10. And if you’ve checked out the full map list, you’ll know both are primed for classic Battlefield chaos, complete with tanks, helicopters, and jets.
While Operation Firestorm wasn’t the biggest map in Battlefield 3, it remains a fan favorite. It features a mix of mountain ranges, tight warehouses, and wide-open sightlines, offering a bit of everything. On the other hand, Mirak Valley is set to be Battlefield 6’s largest map at launch—a sprawling, war-torn landscape that feels pulled straight from WWI, filled with trenches and ruined villages. Just watch where you drive your tank—you might get stuck in the mud.
Though these maps were confirmed for launch, Battlefield Labs players are already getting a sneak peek, thanks to a few well-placed leaks.
This move seems like a direct response to the beta criticism around map size. According to the developers, the smaller beta maps were deliberate, meant to capture the "full-octane" essence of Battlefield. Still, they assured fans that bigger maps were on the way—and now we’re seeing them.
