Unidentified persons broke into a house and killed a 34-year-old man with a sharp-edged weapon in Rabbani Colony. Police took the body into custody and handed it over to the heirs after postmortem.

According to sources, Syed Sharjeel Jilani was living in a rented house in Rabbani Colony. A few days ago, his wife had gone to her parents' home along with the children. Upon returning, she found her husband's body lying inside the room. Unidentified culprits had entered the house and attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon, leaving him critically injured. He succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

When his wife returned after three days and found the door locked, she gathered neighbors and informed the police. Police broke open the door and found the victim's body soaked in blood. He had been fatally struck on the head and eyes.

Batala Colony Police handed the body over to the heirs after postmortem and registered a murder case against unidentified suspects, launching efforts to trace them.

Meanwhile, a woman, fed up with domestic disputes, attempted suicide by setting herself on fire.

The 40-year-old wife of Asad Ali, resident of Thikriwala area, had a quarrel with her husband at home. Out of anger over the quarrel, she poured oil on herself and set herself on fire.
