750 free flats offered for labourers
Applications have been invited for allotment of free flats to industrial workers of Lahore and Kasur districts.
According to an official statement, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has allocated a three per cent quota for widows of industrial workers and 2% for differently-abled labourers in the allotment.
The allotment process has been launched for the Workers Welfare Complex Sundar Industrial Estate Kasur Phase-I, where 750 flats will be given free of charge to workers in the first phase of the scheme.
The chief minister announced that the facility to get the application forms through a website for industrial workers of Lahore and Kasur districts had been launched. The forms can also be obtained free of charge from the offices of the labour welfare director and deputy director concerned.
The last date for submitting the applications is September 8.
On directions of the chief minister, two-thirds of the housing units have been allocated for industrial workers of Kasur and one-third for Lahore district.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz underscored during a briefing about a world expo in Japan that visits by 1.2 million people to Pakistan's pavilion in the event was a proof of global interest in Pakistani products.
She said experts were presenting valuable recommendations on solutions to social problems.
