Footage from the event showed Raja, 25, entering the ring, lifting Smith above his head, and slamming him onto the mat before landing multiple punches to the head. Smith appeared motionless until other wrestlers intervened. He was later hospitalized with serious injuries, according to the outlet.

Sean Ross Sapp, a reporter for the wrestling news site Fightful, said on X that Raja’s involvement in the match had been planned but the intensity of his punches was not. “Raja Jackson knocked the person out — ring name Syko Stu — and followed up with a lot of heavy punches… which were not planned to do that kind of damage,” Sapp wrote.

Tensions appeared to build earlier in the evening when Smith was seen striking Raja with a canned drink, footage showed.

Quinton Jackson, 47, addressed the incident on X, confirming Smith was “awake and stable.” He apologized on behalf of his son, describing the clash as “a work that went wrong.” Rampage noted Raja had recently suffered a concussion from sparring and should not have been involved. “Raja is an MMA fighter, not a pro wrestler and had no business being involved in an event like this,” he wrote. “I don’t condone my son’s actions AT ALL… My main concern now is that Mr. Smith will make a speedy recovery.”

Knokx Pro Wrestling has not yet commented publicly on the incident, which has drawn widespread attention online.
