President Donald Trump was seen in Washington DC on Friday with makeup on his hand, days after questions about his health were raised when photographs of swollen ankles circulated online.
A large patch of foundation, lighter than his natural skin tone, was visible during his visit to the People’s House museum. Later at a World Cup event in the Oval Office, the makeup was again noticeable when he stood to speak.
This is not the first time makeup has been visible on the president’s hand. Reports noted similar appearances in July during meetings with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Scotland and UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, as well as earlier this year with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Last month, images of Trump’s legs at a football event raised concerns about his health. The White House later confirmed he had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition where blood pools in the legs due to weakened vein valves. Leavitt said the condition was not causing discomfort and offered no treatment details.
Social media users also weighed in, with speculations ranging from infusions to rashes.
After his April physical, White House physician Captain Sean Barbabella declared Trump in “excellent cognitive and physical health,” noting his bruising could be linked to aspirin use.
