
A man involved in over 50 car theft cases was killed in an alleged police encounter with the CCD, while his accomplices managed to escape.
According to the police, Sub-Inspector Hanan of the Anti-Car-Lifting CCD was taking the accused, Aamir Sohail, who was wanted in 44 car theft cases, to recover the stolen vehicles. Aamir's accomplices fired at the police party to rescue their partner and fled the scene.
The CCD's anti-carjacking squad chased the suspects, and in the ensuing crossfire, Aamir was injured. He was taken to the hospital, but died on the way. The police took possession of the body and shifted it to the hospital. They also launched raids to search for the accomplices who escaped.
According to CCD sources, Aamir was killed in the crossfire when his accomplice, a Pashtun, tried to rescue him. Aamir had a record of over 44 car theft cases and was a thief.
Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man died due to electrocution from a table fan on Dry Port Road. The police handed over the body to the relatives of the deceased after the investigation.
According to sources, 30-year-old Abdul Karim Abdul Majeed got electrocuted while operating a table fan at Dry Port Road. He became unconscious.
