Jirga of Bajaur tribes issue seven-point declaration

The Jirga also announced a ban on movement across Salarzai at night

BAJAUR:

A grand Jirga of the Salarzai tribes was convened on Saturday at the residence of former provincial minister and MPA Anwar Zeb Khan to deliberate on the deteriorating law and order situation in Bajaur tribal district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

The Jirga brought together elders from both major and minor clans of Salarzai, who unanimously issued a seven-point declaration.

According to the declaration, anyone found facilitating armed groups in Salarzai tehsil will face severe consequences: their house will be demolished, they will be expelled from the area, fined Rs5 million, and declared an enemy of the entire tribe.

The Jirga also announced a ban on movement across Salarzai at night, declaring that any government action or operation in the area must be carried out during daylight hours only.
