Satisfactory set to launch on consoles soon
Coffee Stain Studios has officially announced that Satisfactory will launch on consoles on November 4, marking a major milestone for the long-running factory-building sim. After nearly a decade in development, the console debut signals a new chapter for one of the most successful indie titles in recent years.
Originally released in early access in March 2019, Satisfactory finally hit version 1.0 in September 2024. Around that time, the Swedish developer confirmed that development resources were shifting toward console ports. Now, the team has locked in a release date that includes versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, as well as PS4 and Xbox One—despite their aging hardware.
All console editions will launch with the Satisfactory 1.1 update, bringing them in line with the current PC version. Several platform-specific features will also be included: PS5 users will benefit from DualSense haptics and speaker integration, while all platforms will support cloud saves and game suspension. Cross-play will be available between Xbox and PlayStation users, but the PC version will remain separate for now.
Players can expect multiple graphics modes tailored to different preferences. These include:
-
Performance Mode (targeting 60 FPS),
-
Quality Mode (targeting 30 FPS),
-
and a Balanced Mode (aiming for 40 FPS).
Coffee Stain hasn't yet confirmed if specific modes will vary by platform, but lower-end hardware like PS4 and Xbox One may be limited to 30 FPS due to performance limitations.
Since launching version 1.0, Satisfactory has received regular updates, including the major 1.1 patch in June 2025. While the studio hasn’t detailed its future roadmap, it has shown no signs of slowing down. With Update 1.2 likely on the horizon, console players are getting on board at a promising time.
For those waiting to dive into large-scale automation and factory design, Satisfactory’s console launch on November 4 offers a chance to experience one of 2024’s highest-rated titles.
