Brandon Blackstock, 48, the former talent manager and ex-husband of Kelly Clarkson, will be remembered through the continuation of his Montana-based Valley View Rodeo.

Blackstock, who co-founded the rodeo with girlfriend and business partner Brittney Jones in 2023, passed away on August 7 after a battle with melanoma.

Jones confirmed that the rodeo “is going to remain,” with the final event of the 2025 season scheduled for August 28 and the next season set to begin in June 2026. She emphasized her commitment to preserving Blackstock’s vision, describing his talent for assembling a dedicated team of employees and his lasting influence on their operations.

Following his divorce from Kelly Clarkson in 2020, he settled in Butte, Montana, where he launched several business ventures including the V Bar V Cattle Co.

The late talent manager’s obituary highlighted his love for the mountains and the cowboy lifestyle, as well as his partnership with Jones in establishing Headwaters Livestock Auction and the Valley View Rodeo. Fans and staff alike expressed sadness over his death, with Jones noting, “We sure do miss him. It’s all so awfully sad.”
