According to LAPD, officers responded after reports of Lil Nas X wandering shirtless in public before later stripping down to his underwear and boots. Surveillance footage showed him behaving erratically, sparking concerns of a possible overdose. Witnesses reported he wore a traffic cone on his head before authorities attempted to detain him.
The situation escalated when the rapper allegedly charged at officers. Police confirmed he faces charges of battery on a police officer, a crime requiring a court appearance due to its violent nature. NBC News sources further claimed he struck an officer twice, though LAPD has not confirmed those allegations.
Prior to his arrest, Lil Nas X was briefly hospitalized for evaluation before being transferred to jail. He has not issued a statement, and his representatives have yet to comment.
Fans expressed concern online, pointing to a February interview in which the “Industry Baby” star admitted life had been “difficult” in recent years. The incident has fueled ongoing discussions around mental health and celebrity culture.
