Hollow Knight: Silksong platforms and PC requirements confirmed

Team Cherry confirms Hollow Knight: Silksong launches September 4, 2025, with 40 bosses and day-one Game Pass access.

After years of speculation, Team Cherry has officially confirmed that Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch on September 4, 2025.

The news was revealed alongside a new gameplay trailer, offering fans a closer look at the highly anticipated sequel to the award-winning Hollow Knight.

The footage highlights the game’s ambitious scale, including 40 unique boss encounters, over 200 enemy types, and an expanded world map. Unlike its predecessor, Silksong centers on Hornet, the princess-protector of Hallownest, who is captured and taken to a mysterious new kingdom woven from silk and song. Players will guide Hornet on a dangerous pilgrimage to the realm’s peak while uncovering secrets tied to her past.

Team Cherry describes the environments as diverse and richly detailed, ranging from coral forests and moss-filled grottos to gilded cities, misted moors, and a towering citadel. The sequel introduces enhanced combat with new acrobatic moves, craftable weapons, and powerful tools. A challenging Silk Soul mode will be available as post-game content, adding replayability for veteran players. Christopher Larkin, the composer of the original, returns to score the soundtrack.

On PC, the minimum system requirements include a 64-bit operating system, Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB RAM, and 9GB of storage. The game will release across multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and the newly announced Switch 2.

In addition, Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one, accessible to both Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC subscribers.
