Florence Pugh is rumoured to reprise her role as Yelena Belova in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, according to industry insider Daniel RPK.

If confirmed, the appearance would be Pugh’s fifth outing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following her debut in Black Widow and her role in Thunderbolts.

Details on her involvement remain unclear. Reports suggest her part could range from a cameo to a more significant role as an ally to Peter Parker, though Marvel and Sony have yet to officially confirm the casting. With Pugh’s character now central to the evolving MCU narrative, her presence could serve to link The New Avengers, Spider-Man, and the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.

Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker alongside Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned. New additions to the cast include Sadie Sink from Stranger Things, Jon Bernthal reprising his role as The Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, and Emmy-winning actress Liza Colón-Zayas. The ensemble continues Marvel’s trend of expanding its interconnected storytelling across franchises.

The film began production in Scotland this month under the direction of Destin Daniel Cretton, with Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal co-producing.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set for release on July 31, 2026.
