LAHORE:

Due to heavy rains in the entire country and other technical issues, passengers looking to travel by train have to wait at railway stations for hours until they could board a train.

Many up and down trains faced delays on Wednesday as the department had to cope with the emergency situation.

Pakistan Railways on Wednesday announced changes to the schedule of several trains departing from Lahore for Karachi, Quetta, Rawalpindi and other major cities, citing operational delays.

According to the Divisional Superintendent's Office in Lahore, the Karachi-bound Karakoram Express (42-Down) will depart one hour behind schedule, leaving Lahore at 4:00 pm instead of 3:00 pm.

The Karachi Express (16-Down) will experience a significant delay of 3 hours and 45 minutes, departing at 9:45 pm rather than its scheduled 6:00 pm slot.

The Green Line (6-Down), which arrives from Margalla and continues to Karachi, will depart Lahore at 9:35 pm, a delay of 45 minutes from its original 8:50 pm timing.

Meanwhile, the Karachi-bound Millat Express (18-Down) from Faisalabad will run 3 hours and 40 minutes late, departing at 9:30 pm instead of 5:50 pm.

Passengers of Pak Business Express (34-Down) and Shah Hussain Express (44-Down) are being accommodated on alternate trains for today, railway officials confirmed.

All other trains bound for Karachi, Quetta, Rawalpindi, and other destinations are operating according to their scheduled timings.

Divisional Superintendent Railways Lahore, Inamullah, has directed that passenger facilitation staff remain present at the station at all times to assist travellers.

Passengers are advised to seek further guidance and real-time updates by contacting Railway Inquiry at 042-117 or 042-99070011.
