Man held for robbing railway passengers

Railway Police have arrested a suspect accused of drugging passengers and looting them at the railway station, recovering intoxicating pills from his possession.

According to sources, three days ago, a passenger named Muhammad Shehzad was waiting to travel to Lahore when a man, later identified as Shahzaib, engaged him in conversation, claiming he was also travelling to Lahore. While befriending Shehzad, the suspect first offered him salted snacks, which he refused. Shahzaib then persuaded him to drink juice laced with intoxicants. As soon as Shehzad consumed the drink, he fell unconscious, after which the suspect fled with cash from his pockets.

Following Shehzad's complaint, SHO Railway Police Station Rana Abdul Jabbar, along with his team, conducted a raid and apprehended Shahzaib at the railway station.

Upon searching him, police recovered intoxicating pills. During interrogation, the accused confessed to drugging passengers at the station before looting them.

Railway Police have launched further investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile, a proclaimed offender involved in multiple robbery cases was injured during a police encounter and taken into custody in wounded condition before being shifted to a hospital.
