Two proclaimed offenders killed
Two outlaws wanted in murder and robbery cases were killed in a police encounter in the outskirts of Khanewal's village 128/15-L, while a constable of Bahawalnagar Elite Force sustained bullet injuries.
According to sources, Bahawalnagar Police raided the hideout of proclaimed offenders Asif, and Saqib, wanted in cases, under sections 302 and 394. As the police moved in, the suspects opened fire, prompting the police to call for reinforcement from Khanewal District Police Officer Muhammad Ismail Kharak. The area was cordoned off from all sides, and an intense exchange of fire ensued.
During the crossfire, Constable Nadeem of the Bahawalnagar Elite Force sustained serious bullet injuries and was shifted to Tehsil Hospital Mian Channu for treatment. After exchange of fire, both suspects were gunned down. They were later identified as Saqib and Asif, who had multiple cases of robbery and murder registered against them.
The bodies of the slain outlaws were shifted to District Hospital Khanewal for post-mortem. Meanwhile, Bahawalnagar and Khanewal police have launched further investigation.
