A new leak has suggested that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will include 16 multiplayer maps at launch, with both brand-new arenas and returning classics.
Whenever a new instalment of the franchise nears release, speculation builds around potential features, fuelled by leaks and community discussion.
In the case of Black Ops 7, rumours have already touched on campaign details, such as a large-scale mission merging story and Warzone elements. Now, attention has turned to the multiplayer map pool.
According to claims from leaker GhostOfHope, the game will launch with 16 maps in total. This includes 13 new designs alongside three maps returning from previous titles.
The reported remasters are Raid, Hijacked, and Express, all widely regarded as staples of the Black Ops series.
In addition to these core maps, two larger-scale arenas are said to be planned for a new 20v20 Skirmish mode, which has been mentioned in earlier leaks.
The leaker also suggested that the visual style will move away from the darker tone of Black Ops 6, offering more colourful environments similar to those seen in Cold War.
The reported figure matches the launch count of Black Ops 6, but exceeds both Black Ops Cold War and Black Ops 4.
Even excluding the three returning maps, the inclusion of 13 new settings would surpass the new content those games introduced at release.
For comparison, Modern Warfare 3 (2023) launched with 16 maps as well, though all were remakes from Modern Warfare 2 (2009), with original maps arriving only after launch.
That title eventually expanded with 19 post-launch maps, suggesting Black Ops 7 could follow a similar path of ongoing updates.
An official worldwide reveal of Black Ops 7 is set for August 19, which is expected to confirm further details.
