DIJKOT:

A case has been registered against a couple and two accomplices for allegedly throwing red chili powder into the eyes of a traffic warden and snatching cash, an ATM card, and documents.

According to the FIR lodged by traffic warden Ahsan Iftikhar of Traffic Sector D Ground at Peoples Colony police station, he stated that on August 10 at around 11pm, while returning home after duty, he was stopped at Susan Chowk.

The complainant said that Sajida Bibi, along with her husband and two others, deliberately signaled him to stop his car. When he parked and stepped out, Sajida Bibi took red chili powder hidden in her dupatta and threw it into his eyes, blinding him. He alleged that the accused grabbed him by the collar, issued threats, and snatched Rs62000 cash, his ATM card, and important papers from the right pocket of his uniform before fleeing.

He added that citizens gathered at the scene after his cries for help and saved him. Locals shifted him to a hospital, where doctors washed his eyes and applied medicine. The traffic warden also claimed that the woman and her husband often appear near his duty points to blackmail him, and he possesses CCTV footage as proof.

Peoples Colony Police have registered a case against the four accused under sections 292, 353, and 506 of the PPC and launched a search for their arrest.
