3 motorcyclists killed in Kahna road crash

Impact of collision so severe, none of the victims survived long enough to receive medical treatment

Three men were killed when a speeding motorcycle rammed into a trolley on Saturday in Kahna Nau.

All three motorcycle riders died on the spot after the accident that took plave on Ferozepur Road.

Rescue personnel shifted the bodies to the Jinnah Hospital mortuary.

The deceased were identified as 40-year-old Arshad, son of Manzoor; 32-year-old Umar, son of Ashraf; and 34-year-old Faisal, son of Qurban. All were residents of the Kahna area.

Rescue officials said the impact of the collision was so severe that none of the victims survived long enough to receive medical treatment.

Authorities temporarily halted traffic on the road for the rescue service's work.

The police were investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, while the bodies were sent for post-mortem examination.

Meanwhile, at least 10 people died, whereas 1,663 were injured in 1,407 road traffic crashes across Punjab during the last 24 hours. Of the victims, 717 people were shifted to hospitals, while 946 others with minor injuries were treated at the incident sites by Rescue Medical Teams.

As many as 76 per cent of the road accidents involved motorbikes.

Official data showed that 910 adult and 61 underage drivers, 201 pedestrians and 562 passengers were among the victims.
