The Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) on Saturday rejected social media rumours that it was recruiting candidates domiciled in other provinces, insisting that only Sindh-domiciled applicants are considered.
In a press release, the SPSC secretary said the commission “strictly follows the requisitions and eligibility criteria laid down by various administrative departments of the Government of Sindh and act in accordance with the SPSC (Recruitment Management) Regulations – 2023.”
The statement clarified that the issuance of domicile and Permanent Residence Certificates (PRCs) falls under the authority of deputy commissioners and the district administration, not the commission.
It further noted that the commission is not mandated to verify documents such as degrees, domicile authenticity, or other certifications. Instead, the responsibility lies with the relevant administrative departments, which complete the required formalities before issuing offer letters to successful candidates.
The secretary warned against spreading misinformation. “The general public and prospective candidates are strongly advised to desist from maligning Constitutional Institution/SPSC with fake assumptions and hearsays,” the statement said, adding that legal action could be taken against those circulating false claims.
