On the occasion of Pakistan's 78th Independence Day, the Central Muslim League held a unique flag-hoisting ceremony in Rawalpindi.
A one-kilometre-long national flag was unfurled and held by citizens from Liaquat Bagh to Committee Chowk, turning the stretch into a wave of green and white.
The celebration coincided with the commemoration of the success of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad and the country's independence festivities, which were marked with high enthusiasm.
Across Murree Road, Mall Road, and other key locations, patriotic songs echoed from colourfully decorated stages. Buildings such as the railway station, PIA building, State Life office, Cantonment offices, Mall Plaza, Mall Business Centre, RDA, WASA, PHA, the Municipal Corporation, and Metro Flyover were decked out in national colours.
