Man held for kidnap attempt, harassment

Chung police have arrested a man for allegedly assaulting and attempting to kidnap a girl.

The suspect Shahzeb reportedly harassed the victim with inappropriate behaviour. When she resisted, the suspect allegedly became violent, assaulting her and attempting to abduct her.

The girl's resistance prompted a police response after a video of the incident went viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage. Station House Officer (SHO) of Chung Police Station utilized CCTV footage and advanced investigative tools to identify and apprehend Shahzeb. "We acted promptly to deliver justice," said a Lahore police spokesperson.

"Technology played a key role in tracking the suspect, and we remain dedicated to protecting citizens from such crimes."

Shahzeb is in custody, facing charges of assault and attempted kidnapping under the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). The investigation was continuing, the police said.
