Key terrorist commander held in Waziristan

In an intelligence-based operation, security forces and police arrested a key commander of a banned outfit, identified as Javed Mehsud alias Zaki in Waziristan, who had reportedly returned from Afghanistan a few weeks ago. He was shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

The deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's southern districts continues, with multiple incidents of violence reported from South Waziristan, Bannu, Tank, and DI Khan.

In Upper South Waziristan's Kaniguram area, unidentified gunmen opened fire in Mandi Bazaar, killing Liaquat Ali Burki.

In Lower South Waziristan's headquarters, Wana, armed attackers fired rockets at a security camp, prompting a strong retaliatory action by security forces. The incident created tension in the area, causing panic among residents who confined themselves to their homes.
