Security alert: Patrols stepped up after blasts

Police increased patrolling and alerted personnel deployed at the entry and exits points of the city to be vigilant

Security in the city was stepped up last night in the wake of blasts in Peshawar and Karachi, The Express Tribune has learnt. The police increased patrolling and alerted personnel deployed at the entry and exits points of the city to be vigilant, said SSP (Operations) Shaukat Abbas. Security for VIPs and at sensitive locations was also stepped up. “We are taking every threat we receive very seriously,” he said.  The police also stepped up an ongoing campaign to document and register people in the city, he said.
