KARACHI:

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has demanded the authorities to address the burning issues of Karachi as the rook has already cooked, otherwise, he said, the JI would have no other option but to lead a massive rights movement to uproot the corrupt politics.

The JI supremo expressed these views while addressing a press conference held at Idara Noor-e-Haq — the JI Karachi headquarters, here on Tuesday. He was flanked by JI Karachi Ameer Monem Zafar and other leaders, including Saifuddin Advocate, Zahid Askari and several town chairmen.

He said that Karachi has become a hub of crises like water, power, education, health, transport and other sectors.

The JI and Karachiites have paid the price for ethnic politics by the MQM and other quarters, so we don't want any such scenario.

He held the PPP government responsible for fanning ethnicity in the mega city. He highlighted the transport issue and said that over 550 Karachiites were killed in seven months during the past seven months.
