Ten days not enough to prepare for written tests’.

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Monday issued notice to the Punjab Public Service Commission chairman for September 21 on a petition seeking the postponement of tests for lecturers’ jobs and a lowering of the upper age limit for private candidates.

Justice Umar Ata Bandial of the LHC issued the order on a petition moved by Mubeen Umar, who submitted that the PPSC set September 12 as the deadline for the submission of forms and September 23 as the date for the written tests.

She said that meant candidates had just 10 days to prepare for the tests, which was not enough.

She said it was also difficult to prepare while the country was hit with floods and dengue

Umar also objected to the 33-year age limit for the post. She said she was over 33 but wanted to apply to be an English lecturer. She said the Services and General Administration Department secretary had the power to relax the age limit and should do so in her case.
