Seatbelts on public transport mandated

The Motorway Police has mandated seat belts for all public transport passengers on national highways and motorways.

The new regulation covers all buses and coaches, assigning drivers and crew accountability for ensuring every passenger is securely buckled. Passengers who fail to comply will be fined and public transport vehicles lacking seat belts will be refused access to the motorway.

Police officials emphasised that wearing seat belts in public transportation, including buses, coaches and other vehicles, is both a legal obligation and a proven way to reduce injuries in crashes.
