PESHAWAR:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member of the National Assembly Shandana Gulzar has said that Sher Afzal Marwat has the ability to mobilise people for the movement and, unlike others, will never flee from a public gathering.

"Sher Afzal Marwat stood by the PTI founder at a time when everyone else had gone underground, and I stood with him then, I will continue to stand with him in the future," she said.

Speaking to the media at the Peshawar High Court on Monday, Shandana said the PTI founder had sent a clear message from jail to the provincial government that no permission should be given for any operation in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

"He has categorically stated that the provincial government will not allow any operation. If an operation still takes place in the province, it will mean those behind it are not loyal to the PTI founder," she stressed.

She praised Sher Afzal Marwat's courage, noting that no one else had shown such bravery. "Even when sidelined by the PTI founder for violating party discipline, Marwat still declares himself a loyal worker. He can gather crowds, he fears no one, and he never runs away from a rally," she said, adding that every party worker must adhere to discipline.

Shandana further said that those who became MNAs, MPAs, or senators did so by their own choice. "No one is doing any favour to the PTI founder. If someone cannot carry the weight, the PTI founder has said they should step aside," she remarked.

She noted that people took to the streets on August 5 and will do so again on August 14. "On August 5, elderly woman Rehana Dar was arrested in Punjab. A coward is someone who targets and arrests the innocent," she said.

Shandana also criticised those calling the PTI founder "emotional" and suggesting he should negotiate with the establishment. "A social media campaign has been launched against Imran Khan, but mark my words, in three months, the reality will be clear," she concluded.
