In February this year, the PTI expelled Marwat from the party.

According to some reports, Imran Khan had instructed PTI leadership to revoke Marwat's basic membership, citing concerns over his conduct at a rally in Swabi.

At the meeting, MNA Shandana Gulzar remarked that PTI leaders Shahbaz Gill and Shehzad Akbar were making statements against K-P CM Ali Amin Gandapur, yet the party has not issued any show-cause notices to them.
