CCD raids PML-N MPA's farmhouse

The Rawalpindi Crime Control Department (CCD) raided the farmhouse of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Naeem Ijaz, taking three individuals into custody.

Officials said the operation aimed to arrest a highly wanted suspect and that the MPA had been asked to hand over the individuals sought.

Following the raid, Naeem Ijaz called the police emergency helpline 15 to report CCD officials, including the in-charge and the SHO.

He claimed that 30 uniformed and 15 plainclothes personnel entered his property, assaulted an employee named Hamza, and took away three staff members, including Shafqat, Qadir, and Mati, along with cash.

CCD sources stated that the suspect was wanted in a private citizen's case involving abduction and an objectionable video. They added that the MPA had been informed beforehand and asked to present his property's manager — himself a record-holder under the Anti-Terrorism Act — along with the wanted men, but he refused.

When contacted, Naeem Ijaz initially expressed ignorance about the incident, later issuing a statement through his spokesperson along with CCTV footage from the raid. The spokesperson denounced the operation as "illegal and immoral," accusing CCD of staging a drama for cheap publicity.

The matter escalated when Naeem Ijaz, accompanied by other MPAs, took the complaint to Rawalpindi RPO Babar Sarfraz Alpa. A copy of a written complaint also surfaced, alleging that police broke open a locker and stole Rs50 million in cash, terming it "robbery under the guise of an operation."
