Gogi Butt secures bail in murder case
The Lahore Sessions Court has granted interim pre-arrest bail to the main accused, Aqeel Rasheed alias Gogi Butt in the high-profile Ameer Balaj murder case, until August 16.
The order was issued by Additional Sessions Judge Assad Hafeez during a hearing on Wednesday.
Gogi Butt appeared before the court under tight security, accompanied by his legal counsel, Advocates KP Rai and Muhammad Ali.
Deputy District Public Prosecutor Saleem Ahmad Gill represented the state.
The defense argued that their client had been falsely implicated and alleged mala fide intent by both the complainant and the police.
The court issued notices to the complainant and the state, seeking a response by the next hearing. Gogi Butt was granted interim bail against surety bonds worth Rs50,000, with the court directing him to cooperate with the investigation and appear at all future hearings until a decision is made on the bail petition.
