Sephora is under growing pressure to sever ties with Huda Beauty after its founder, Huda Kattan, posted a now-deleted TikTok video promoting conspiracy theories linking Israel to global conflicts and terrorist attacks.
In the video, Kattan suggested that Israel was responsible for World War I, World War II, the September 11 attacks, and the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led terrorist attack in Israel. "Are they behind every world war? Yes. Behind September 11? Absolutely," she said in the post, which was viewed by her 1.7 million followers before being removed by TikTok for violating community guidelines. The platform cited its policy against misinformation that can cause significant harm.

Kattan’s remarks have drawn strong backlash from Jewish organizations and human rights advocates. StopAntisemitism, a nonprofit watchdog, called on Sephora to discontinue its partnership with Huda Beauty. In a letter obtained by Fox News Digital, the group's founder Liora Rez wrote, “If Sephora is serious about creating a safe and inclusive space for all communities, it must drop Huda Beauty immediately.” She described Kattan as someone who “has consistently used her massive platform to incite against Jews.”
The Anti-Defamation League also condemned Kattan’s statements, calling them “dangerous and historically baseless,” while Yad Vashem’s U.S. Director Tamar Major compared them to rhetoric used by the Nazis to incite antisemitism in the 20th century.
In response, Sephora issued a statement reaffirming its commitment to inclusivity and distancing itself from hate speech. “We take this matter very seriously and can confirm we are actively reviewing this issue internally, including working with the brand,” a Sephora spokesperson told Fox News Digital and PEOPLE.
Huda Beauty, founded by Kattan in 2013, has become a major global cosmetics brand, reportedly generating around $200 million annually. Despite widespread calls for accountability, neither Kattan nor Huda Beauty has publicly addressed the controversy or responded to media requests for comment.
