A silent protest by the Handmaids of Nebraska has gone viral on TikTok after members of the group, dressed in crimson robes and white bonnets, followed Rep. Mike Flood through his district office in Lincoln.
Inspired by The Handmaid’s Tale, the video shows the group trailing Flood as he exits the restroom, set to the song Somebody’s Watching Me by Rockwell.

The video was captioned “See you at the town hall,” referencing a public meeting held Monday night in Lincoln.
The post has received nearly one million views and thousands of supportive comments. Viewers described Flood as looking “uncomfortable” and praised the group’s nonverbal message.
The protest marks the latest appearance by the Handmaids of Nebraska, who have used symbolic dress and silent presence to communicate opposition to recent legislative actions.
The handmaid costume has become a powerful visual symbol used in demonstrations addressing reproductive rights and civil liberties, echoing themes from Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel.
