LAHORE:

In an effort to curb the illegal hunting of falcons and quails during the hunting season, Chief Wildlife Ranger Mubeen Elahi has directed all field officers to maintain full vigilance throughout the period.

Newly trained rangers will be deployed extensively, while raid teams are being formed to monitor illegal activity. A "zero-tolerance policy" has been announced, under which FIRs will be immediately registered against offenders. Landowners facilitating such hunting on their properties will also face legal consequences.

The department emphasised strict accountability, stating that deputy chief of wildlife rangers will be held responsible in case of complaints.
