Nintendo has confirmed that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will be playable later this month at Fan Expo Canada, further supporting plans for a 2025 release. This marks the first opportunity for the public to experience the title hands-on since its announcement.

Initially revealed in 2017 under the title Metroid Prime 4, the project was later rebooted in 2019. A new trailer released last summer confirmed its current title and 2025 launch window, but a precise release date remains unannounced.

In an official announcement, Nintendo stated that attendees will be able to play “upcoming games like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (available later in 2025),” alongside other titles including Donkey Kong Bananza, Hades 2, and Borderlands 4.

The confirmation follows the game receiving a rating in South Korea in July, suggesting development has progressed to a late stage.

The renewed visibility of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond comes after years of uncertainty and delays, with fans expressing cautious optimism following the announcement of its inclusion in Nintendo’s Fan Expo Canada showcase.

Though no final release date has been confirmed, the game is expected to be released on both the current Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2.

The long-anticipated sequel’s appearance at the Expo signals another step toward its full release, reinforcing Nintendo’s 2025 target and offering fans their first direct experience with Samus Aran’s return.
