Six inspectors have been downgraded to SI, three SIs reduced ASI, and one ASI has been demoted to head constable

HYDERABAD:

On the directives of the Inspector General (IG) Sindh Police, ten Station House Officers (SHOs) from various districts of the province — including Hyderabad, Karachi, Sanghar, Qambar Shahdadkot, Sukkur, and Shikarpur — have been suspended and demoted over their alleged involvement in social crimes and other serious misconduct.

The suspended officers have been ordered to report to "B-Company" at the Police Headquarters in Garden, Karachi — a disciplinary unit where blacklisted or suspended personnel are assigned to sit idle for eight hours a day. In police parlance, the cell is referred to as "Kala Pani" or internal banishment.

According to an official order signed by DIG Establishment Naeem Ahmed Shaikh, Zahid Siraj - SHO of A-Section Latifabad police station in Hyderabad - has been suspended with immediate effect and demoted to the rank of Sub-Inspector (SI). He has also been instructed to report to B-Company.

Of the remaining nine SHOs, six are from various police stations in Karachi, while one each belongs to Qambar Shahdadkot, Sukkur, and Shikarpur districts.

Among the demoted officers, six inspectors have been downgraded to SI, three SIs reduced to Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASI), and one ASI has been demoted to head constable.
