Demand grows as cement sales surge 30%

Industry supplies nearly 4m tons to domestic, export markets

Cement dispatches increased 30.13% and reached 3.997 million tons in July 2025 against supplies of 3.071 million tons during the same month of last fiscal year.

According to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), local cement sales by the industry during July 2025 were 2.988 million tons as compared to 2.524 million tons in July 2024, showing an increase of 18.40%. Exports increased a massive 84.21% as volumes jumped from 0.547 million tons in July 2024 to 1.008 million tons in July 2025.

North-based cement manufacturers supplied 2.650 million tons in the month under review, registering an increase of 17.61% against 2.253 million tons dispatched in July last year. South-based mills sold 1.35 million tons, which was 64.64% higher than dispatches of 0.818 million tons in the previous year.

Northern mills released 2.419 million tons of cement in domestic markets, up 12.26% as compared to 2.154 million tons last year. Southern mills, however, supplied a comparatively low volume of 569,954 tons to local markets, which was higher by 54.23% from dispatches of 369,557 tons last year.

Exports from north-based mills increased a massive 133.96% as supplies surged from 99,020 tons in July 2024 to 231,665 tons in July 2025. Exports from the south rose 73.22% to 776,459 tons from 448,242 tons in the previous year.

A spokesman for the APCMA mentioned that the new fiscal year started on a positive note in spite of disturbing weather conditions in most parts of the country. He expressed hope that the cement industry would witness a good momentum in the coming months, with improved macroeconomic indicators.
