Woman 'abducted, assaulted' for hours

Medical board confirms victim was gang-raped, suspect arrested

RAWALPINDI:

Five men allegedly abducted a married woman at gunpoint from her home and subjected her to gang rape in a flat located in the Gulraiz area, Chaklala police said on Saturday.

The suspects reportedly tortured and assaulted the victim for nearly 10 hours.

A case was registered after the traumatised and injured woman approached the Chaklala Police Station to report the crime. Police have since arrested one suspect during a raid, while the remaining four are currently at large.

According to initial reports, the incident came to light when the victim regained consciousness and began shouting for help, prompting neighbours to intervene. The suspects fled the scene, and the woman managed to escape.

The survivor, Mahnoor, wife of Wajid Rehman, informed the police that she resides in a rented accommodation in Rahimabad. Her husband works as an electrician, while she is employed in a modest job at a local hotel to support their three young children.

Mahnoor recounted that upon returning home from work, the suspects — identified as Ans, Umar, Yasin, Sabeel, and Farhad — forcibly entered her residence, physically assaulted her, and abducted her at gunpoint.

She was taken to a flat in Gulraiz, where she was allegedly forcibly drugged and then subjected to repeated sexual assault over several hours.

After regaining partial consciousness, the victim raised an alarm, leading neighbours to intervene. The suspects fled, and the victim was later taken to the police station in a visibly injured state.
