EA Entertainment president Laura Miele has confirmed that Battlefield 6 will launch on October 10, one of the first major titles to occupy a slot previously marked for GTA 6, which was moved to May 2026.

Miele told Variety that the decision followed careful internal planning, and the release timing was fixed long before Rockstar made its schedule adjustments.

Alongside the Battlefield 6 announcement, Miele revealed that EA is aggressively expanding The Sims franchise with an upcoming multiplayer platform. The update, part of a broader re‑engineering of the Sims experience, will support multiplayer play, mobile accessibility, new content types and co-op “cozy games.” Miele described the Sims ecosystem as “one of the biggest growth opportunities” for EA.

The company is also backing The Sims movie, produced with Amazon MGM and Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap. Miele stated the film is the product of years of collaboration, and EA is exploring avenues to synchronise game and film content. Future tie‑ins could include co‑created experiences that embrace both linear and interactive storytelling.

Miele also discussed EA’s balance of in‑house and licensed offerings. An upcoming Star Wars Jedi 3 game is in development at Respawn, along with expansion of Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, continued support for Star Wars: The Old Republic, and a planned Iron Man game. These titles sit alongside existing franchises like Battlefield, Apex Legends, Sims and Skate in a diversified portfolio.

On transmedia development, Miele emphasised the untapped narrative potential in Apex Legends, calling the game’s world “rich” and suitable for television or film adaptation. She reiterated that EA intends to handle such expansions in ways that respect the existing brands and community.
