Dua Lipa has officially become a citizen of Kosovo, receiving her citizenship certificate from President Vjosa Osmani in a ceremony that celebrated her enduring connection to her heritage.
The honour was granted by presidential decree, marking a significant milestone for the British-born artist of Kosovar Albanian descent.
President Osmani announced the decision on social media, stating: “Welcome back home, Dua!

Alongside her father, Dukagjin Lipa, she co-founded the Sunny Hill Foundation, which promotes youth and the arts in Kosovo. Their flagship project, the Sunny Hill Festival in Pristina, has brought global stars such as Miley Cyrus and Calvin Harris to the Balkans.
The official citizenship not only recognises Lipa’s contribution to Kosovo’s international image but also symbolises the broader cultural pride of the Albanian diaspora.
Her career, spanning Grammy wins and chart-topping albums like Future Nostalgia and Radical Optimism, continues to reflect the values of resilience and identity.
