Dom Dolla broke Lollapalooza records this weekend, but only after a last-minute dash from Ibiza that nearly derailed his historic set.
The Australian producer was stranded after a flight cancellation, until festival organisers arranged a private jet to get him to Chicago. “I’m f***ing stressed,” he posted on Instagram, later adding, “Okay, never mind. Thank you Lollapalooza for saving my ass. I’ll see you in nine hours.”
During the flight, he shared clips enjoying Vegemite toast and convincing airline crew to try it, captioning the moment, “Making strangers try Vegemite: episode one.”
Once in Chicago, he delivered a crowd-thrilling performance that broke stage attendance records. “Lollapalooza just told me it was the biggest crowd they’ve ever had at the stage in the festival’s history… f***ing hell,” he wrote, later titling the experience “Dollapalooza.”
The set adds to Dolla’s monumental year. He’s sold out Madison Square Garden, broken records in Australia, and won the Global Award at the 2025 Rolling Stone Australia Awards.
He also appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone AU/NZ, where he discussed perfectionism and the demands of DJ life. “I wish there were 36 hours in a day and there were 10 days a week,” he said, wishing he could tour and write simultaneously.
