The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police on Thursday arrested a man accused of defrauding citizens through fake overseas employment and immigration schemes, also recovering illegal weapons from his possession.
According to a police spokesperson, the operation was conducted by the Noon Police Station, which apprehended the suspect, identified as Makhdoomzada Abdul Karim. He allegedly extorted large sums of money from multiple victims by offering bogus foreign visas and job opportunities.
The spokesperson said the suspect had been running a scam for some time, exploiting individuals desperate for employment abroad. Multiple cases have already been registered against him, and investigations are underway to trace potential accomplices and other victims.
DIG Muhammad Jawad Tariq said the suspect would be presented before court with strong evidence. He stressed that safeguarding citizens' lives and property remains a top priority for Islamabad Police and vowed strict action against those who violate public trust.
The DIG also advised citizens to remain vigilant and ensure all employment and immigration arrangements are made through legal, verified channels.
