James Gunn shares new update on Teen Titans project

James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios, has officially confirmed that the much-discussed Teen Titans live-action film currently has no completed script in development.
Despite earlier reports suggesting Ana Nogueira had drafted a screenplay, Gunn clarified that such a script “doesn’t exist” and that she has since shifted focus to writing the studio’s Wonder Woman reboot.

In past comments, Gunn had noted that Nogueira initially submitted a draft in early 2025, which was still undergoing revisions.
However, in a recent response to fan questions, he stated that the script remains unfinished and the project is not actively being worked on at the moment.

The unexpected clarification contradicts prior expectations that Teen Titans would be part of the DCU’s Chapter One slate alongside projects like Supergirl and Peacemaker Season 2.
According to public updates, the film has now been deprioritized while resources focus on confirmed projects such as Wonder Woman.
Although this does not guarantee the project won’t return in a later phase, the current status indicates that Teen Titans remains on hold pending further development, or may have been superseded entirely.
