Sacked constable commits suicide

A former police constable suffering from depression reportedly set himself ablaze at his home in Gojra, ultimately succumbing to his injuries. The deceased, identified as Farrukh Waheed, was a resident of Chak No. 157 RB in the Sahianwala police jurisdiction and had been dismissed from his position a year ago.

According to sources, the dismissal had left the former constable deeply distressed and under medical treatment for mental health issues. On the day of the incident, Farrukh doused himself in fuel inside the drawing room of his house and set himself on fire.

He was rushed to the Burn Unit of Allied Hospital in critical condition, where he fought for his life but ultimately passed away.
