Paul Gallagher, the older brother of Oasis stars Noel and Liam Gallagher, has been charged with multiple violent sex offences, including rape, sexual assault, coercive control, and threats to kill.

Gallagher, 59, from East Finchley in north London, is accused of carrying out the offences between 2022 and 2024. The charges follow a police investigation launched last year. According to officials, the allegations involve a single female complainant, who is currently being supported by specially trained officers.

In total, Paul faces charges of rape, three counts of sexual assault, coercive and controlling behaviour, three counts of intentional strangulation, two counts of making threats to kill, and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He is set to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, August 27.

Though closely related to two of Britain’s most famous rock musicians, Paul Gallagher has never been directly involved with Oasis. He has worked as a DJ and photographer, and has largely maintained a low public profile. In previous interviews, Paul referred to himself as living “amongst the lower middle classes” and deliberately avoiding the spotlight.

He currently resides in a flat reportedly purchased by Noel Gallagher in 2004.

The timing of the charges is particularly notable as Oasis is currently on their highly anticipated reunion tour, with three sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium scheduled before they move on to Edinburgh, Dublin, and later international venues.

While neither Noel nor Liam Gallagher has commented on the charges, the news has sparked intense public attention given the family connection and the band's high-profile return to the stage.
