Marvel’s Fantastic Four: First Steps launched with a strong global debut, earning an estimated $218 million worldwide, including $118 million domestically and $100 million from international markets.

It marks Marvel’s first film of 2025 to cross the $100 million opening mark.

The film took in approximately $57 million on its first day, including previews, making it the second-highest opening day of the year behind A Minecraft Movie.

Industry projections placed its domestic weekend total between $120 million and $125 million, with global numbers slightly exceeding early expectations.

Directed by Matt Shakman, the reboot stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Marvel’s iconic “first family,” set within a retrofuturistic 1960s timeline.

Part of Marvel’s Phase Six, the film has been praised for its tone and visual direction, earning a Rotten Tomatoes score of 88% and a CinemaScore of A–, signaling strong audience and critic reception.

The opening places Fantastic Four: First Steps in direct box office competition with DC’s Superman.

For Marvel, the film's performance may signal a potential rebound amid growing concerns over superhero fatigue in recent years
